Mahonda Civic Update
Jun. 25th, 2008 07:43 amYesterday, I called the body shop to ask them a few questions. First and foremost when I would get my car back. I was told I should have her back by the end of the week. My second question was regarding the trunk lid and the remote release. Since there was so much damage done to the trunk, I didn't know if they were going to need to "rekey" for lack of a better term the frequency or what ever you call it for the remote trunk release from the keys. They had one of the keys. The other one was at my parents. Michelle (the gal I have been dealing with there) said, just to be on the safe side, bring the key over and let's check it out.
So I get over there and she tells me don't laugh when I asked this person the question....she then proceeds to call someone and say, "Hey Edgar, where is the Madonna car." I about busted out laughing. Turns out it was right behind us. I went and tried the trunk release and it worked fine. I then asked her about these supposed paint lines. Because there was a discrepency about some of the painting of the back quarter panels. She said, it's a non issue, she had her painter take care of it. The car is done. It looks beautiful...you would never know it was in an accident....except for maybe a little scuff on the license plate. Looks like a brand new car.
From what Michelle told me, they are waiting for Nationwide to pay the last supplement and then the car is mine. The total cost of the repairs was just a little over $6k. I asked her when Nationwide would be getting back to her...she didn't know. I told her that I would think that they would want to get me out of the rental since they are paying fer it. She agreed. So now I sit and wait to hear back that Mahonda can come home...and let's just say...I'm ready to have her back.
Hope all is well with you...life is just busy with me as always.
